34 weeks...
you know you're getting bigger when...
* the maternity shirts that once looked like tents barely fit over your belly - in fact, some have already been phased out because your belly peeks out of them
* you have to roll over from your back to your side and push up with your arms to get out of bed, or off the couch
* your husband has to help you tie your shoes - if they fit over your chubby feet - otherwise it's a long process of grunting and squeezing to get them on yourself
* flip flops have become the norm, no matter the weather or outfit - and people at your job just have to understand
* you have to trade out your wedding rings for a larger, fake band due to the sausages that are attached to your hand (once known as fingers)
* you have a wonderful friend who gives you a pedicure when she comes to visit
* you begin wondering how it could be possible for your stomach to stretch any more
* you have to sleep surrounded by pillows because letting your heavy belly sag is much too painful/uncomfortable
* the meals are becoming smaller and smaller because there is less and less room for them to fit - even though you're starving all the time
* you squat down to get something out of a lower cabinet and get stuck
* your ribs ache regularly due to the rapidly increasing size of your stomach
But through it all, you feel wonderful and treasure every minute of it, eagerly awaiting the day when you get to meet the cause of these temporary ailments!
I am in disbelief that we have only about 6 weeks to go!

Katie, this is so cute! You are still as fun as ever to hang out with!
ReplyDeleteI hope for your sake that you are a bit early. It's only been 2 days and I haven't forgotten that end of preggo feeling. I would plan my bending over to pick up stuff so I could do it in one shot if possible. Annabelle was so completely out front that my pants instantly rolled down and my belly hung out the bottom once she started to drop this past week or so. Hang in there and soon it will be a distant memory. It's fun at first when you drop about 3-5 lbs. each day and you are eating like you are still pregnant. (for some reason I am super hungry the first week or so) STinks when it plateau's though. You will be greatly relieved to get your body back soon! Can't wait to me YOUR baby girl!
ReplyDeleteHe he, very true!! By the end, I only had a few shirts that still fit! Can't believe you're already 34 weeks, either!
ReplyDeleteYou know your wife is getting bigger when...
ReplyDelete- Your arms ache from the back rubs
- Your sleep never gets to REM because someone keeps rocking the bed every 30 minutes
- Your sleep never gets to REM because someone keeps getting out of bed to go to the bathroom every 3.25 minutes
- She turns around in the hallway and knocks you against the wall.
- Taking showers together becomes dangerous (did I just type that?)
- Hugs become long distance
- You find there's twice as much to love!!!
LOL, Scott! :) Reece and I got a good laugh from that. In our house, I don't necessarily knock Reece against the wall when I'm coming through, but it is like a one-lane road where one of us has to move or wait for the other to pass. Fun times! (I am sure Reece will be delighted when I'm not asking for a back rub every 10 minutes, and when he's not getting interrupted sleep anymore - although that will continue for a while after pregnancy ends and it won't be my fault!)
